If your company sells to business customers in India, you will need to include each customer’s GSTIN (Goods and Services Tax Identification Number) on their invoices.

PDF Invoice - Order Printer allows you to capture your customers' GSTINs and automatically include them on your invoices.

In this article, we will cover how to include the GSTIN registration number using:

  • B2B Customers section(link)
  • Customer notes

B2B Customers section

Here you will find customers, their last order number and CIN Number.

CIN stands for Customer/Company Identification Number.

Enter your Customer's GSTIN number over here and Save. The respective invoices would have GSTIN number of Customers included. Make sure to enable "Show CIN" on Template settings if it doesn't show up.

In addition to capturing customer GSTIN numbers via your store, you can also manually enter them via the Shopify admin.

This might be a useful option if your sales team regularly creates orders on behalf of your customers or if you need to create an order for a new customer manually.

Add the GSTIN registration number as a customer note

To add the customer's GSTIN number as a customer note:

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to the Customers page.
  2. Select a customer, or click Add customer to create a new customer.
  3. Enter the GSTIN number into the Customer Note field, using a prefix GSTIN Registration Number or GSTIN Number: (e.g., GSTIN Registration Number: 12345).
  4. Click Save to save your changes.

You can add the GSTIN number before or after creating the order. PDF Invoice - Order Printer will automatically sync it and update your invoices as soon as you make changes.

Make sure to enable "Customer Note" on Template settings if it's not showing up.
